Applying for a school place

All applications are coordinated through Nottinghamshire County Council. If you have any queries regarding the application process, please contact the NCC Admissions Team on 0300 500 8080.

Please ensure that you follow BOTH steps below, this will avoid any delay in your application for a place at our school.

Step 1:

Supplementary Information Form

You must also provide a copy of your child’s baptism certificate and return these documents to the school office before the closing date. Without this additional information, we cannot class your child as a Catholic.

Step 2:

Complete the admissions form sent to you by Nottinghamshire County Council, or apply online at www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk

First Admissions 2023

Applications are accepted from 7 November 2022 – 15 January 2023 for first admission (Reception) and transfer from infant to junior/primary education.

You will be notified on 17 April 2023 if you have been given a school place.

Waiting lists

Parents whose children have not been offered a place at a school in the normal admissions round will be added to the school’s Waiting List unless they have been offered a place at a higher preference school. The Waiting List will remain open until the end of the academic application year.  If a parent wishes their child to remain on the waiting list, they must re-apply each academic year. The Local authority manages the waiting list for Good Shepherd Primary Catholic Voluntary Academy.

In-year applications

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  An application should be made to Nottinghamshire Council Council by completing the LA Common Application Form and following the instructions on the LA website.
