First Admissions 2024

Applications are accepted from 6 November 2023 – 15 January 2024 for first admission (Reception) and transfer from infant to junior/primary education.

You will be notified on 16 April 2024 if you have been given a school place.

Waiting lists

Parents whose children have not been offered a place at a school in the normal admissions round will be added to the school’s waiting list unless they have been offered a place at a higher preference school. The waiting list will remain open until the end of the academic application year.  If a parent wishes their child to remain on the waiting list, they must re-apply each academic year. The Nottinghamshire Local Authority manages the waiting list for Good Shepherd Primary Catholic Voluntary Academy.

In-year applications

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places.  An application should be made to Nottinghamshire Council Council by completing the LA Common Application Form and following the instructions on the Local Authority website. If you are applying for a place on faith grounds, you will also need to complete the current supplementary information form and return this to:

The Good Shepherd Catholic Voluntary Academy
Somersby Road, Nottingham, NG5 4LT

or email

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2023/24 will be applied.

Parents are advised to read the admission policy carefully before making their application. If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list.  Please see the admission policy for more details.
